The High School Difference
Attending high school is an exciting time in a young adult's life, but it is no time to take a back seat to school work and responsibilities. This is the time to grow, learn, and take PRIDE in your self-worth. At Conroe High School we expect all students to follow the PRIDE model:
Punctuality - Right place, right time
Respect - Treat others as you want to be treated
Integrity - Do what is right
Dedication - No less than the best effor
Excellence - Strive for greatness
Credits
You must earn at least 26 credits in order to graduate. The state of Texas requires specific courses to meet the 26 credit minimum so please meet with your counselor for further details.
To promote to the 10th grade, you must have at least 6 credits and a 90% attendance rate. Should you exceed the alloted absences, credit will be denied. Make-up hours are required to regain credit. Speak with your Assistant Principal to make arrangements.
STAAR EOC
You must pass 5 STAAR EOC exams in order to graduate. You will take 3 exams in the Spring of your Freshman year. The exams are: English I, Biology, Algebra I, English II, and U.S. History. If you do not pass the exam the first time, other opportunities will be provided to retest. If you do not pass an exam by your scheduled graduation date, you will not be permitted to graduate or participate in the graduation ceremony. You will need to return during the summer to retest in the failed area.
Tardies
When you are tardy to class 10 minutes or less, the teacher will input the tardy into the electronic gradebook.
Any student arriving to class more than 10 minutes late is considered truant to class and will be marked absent.
Excessive tardies will result in disciplinary action. The third tardy, and other subsequent tardies for the week, will result in a referral.
